How to merge and split PDFs for a document pack
Arrange documents, merge the pack or split out only the pages you need.
Use this workflow when several existing PDFs need to become one readable package, or when only part of a longer PDF needs to be shared. Start by deciding what the recipient actually needs to read.
1. Collect and identify the source documents
Keep a separate copy of the original files. Use descriptive names so you can distinguish a revision from an unrelated attachment. Check that each PDF opens before including it in the operation.
2. Set the reading order before merging
For a project package, a useful sequence might be an introduction, the main report and supporting attachments. In Linvara PDF Toolkit, choose the PDFs and arrange them in the order you want before merging. Check the saved output rather than relying only on source file names.
3. Split only the pages you need
If the recipient needs a section rather than the full document, choose an available split mode. Verify the first and last pages of each result, including any cover pages that can make the PDF page number differ from a printed page number.
4. Review and name the output
Open the result and check page count, order, orientation and legibility. Test any supported form fields you filled. Keep the original documents separately, especially when a source contains a digital signature or interactive content.
A watermark can label a review copy, but it does not conceal confidential information. Explore Linvara PDF Toolkit or contact support with a document-specific question.
